Everyone has periods of involuntary unemployment. Many will then take an unscheduled vacation, but one can also think of a profitable addition to our resumes, even if unpaid. Anything you can add to your resume that reinforces your experience or job expertise adds loads to your attractiveness for a future employer. Volunteer positions are much easier to find and actually work in. The main reasons may be that not that many see the opportunities they offer, there is less competition. Volunteer jobs may work for you in several ways: a new professional experience, new skills, getting related to new people and processes. Start volunteering!
