CVSurgeon.com Interview

By Interviewer at 11/20/09 12:35

Name of your website?

CVSurgeon.com

Your name?

Anil Mahajane

Your Location (city, etc)

Gurgaon

Please give us a short summary of your website?

CVSurgeon.com is involved in Resume Writing for senior professionals anywhere in the world. Our clients are mostly in India, Middle Eastern countries, South Africa & even Britain.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I used to find the CVs of various candidates absolutely unimpressive while conducting interviews in the companies I was working for various senior positions. When I started my own recruitment company in 1995, I used to be disappointed on seeing very Bad resume but excellent professionals. It was impossible to get them interviewed in my client companies for various senior position. Therefore, I started writing resume.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

CVSurgeon.com was my first website. It was in 2001.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I think CVSurgeon has now become more or less a generic name. I couldn't decide about a better name.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

At CVSurgeon.com we have a Writer, who is simply not a copywriter alone. In other websites you will find copywriters with 2-5 yrs experience writing or in fact attemting to write resume of CEOs / VPs/ GMs. All terrible waste. Our main writer has been CEO of a large Indian Group. He is MBA from most prestigious Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT). Now he is leading a plethora of service companies like JobzTel Consulting Group & Executive Search Safari in headhunting in Indian subcontinent & Gulf.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I wish to eventually collaborate with an angel Investor & make it a world class most popular CV writing website.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I have gathered a lot of goodwill in the professional world. This is all because of investing loads of time in discovering and using skill set for writing top bracket resume. This investment of time will be coupled with investment of funds & lo Success will manifest in returns too.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would make it as per my master plan written for that particular day.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Oh Yes

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Not much to write

What has been your biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge was to see the satisfaction & Success of Top bracket clients.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I have never actually tried to prmote my website. Most of the promotion has been through satisfied clients.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Not much

What is your website address?
